Job summary

Sunnybrook is seeking an Environmental Services professional to perform hospital cleaning tasks across multiple campuses. Responsibilities include floor care, waste collection, washroom replenishment and carpet spot cleaning.

Experience in Environmental Services and IPC protocols is essential. WHMIS trained candidates who can work with minimal supervision and lift 20–30 pounds are encouraged to apply. Ability to respond to CBRN incidents is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have prior Environmental Services experience.
• Must score 70%+ on Environmental Services Core Competency test.
• Grade 11 education or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and speak English competently.
• Must have attended WHMIS training.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Operates housekeeping equipment including swing buffer, burnisher and scrubber.
• Must use PPE including CBRN gear and Tyvek suit.
• Infection Control Core Competency Certificate required.
• Able to lift 20–30 pounds.
• Capable of essential physical duties and responding to CBRN incidents.
• Available to work at all campuses.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties for floors, washrooms and corridors.
• Carry out terminal cleaning for admissions.
• Clean isolation rooms per IPC protocols.

• Dry and wet mop floors and stairs, collect garbage, clean washrooms and replenish supplies, vacuum and spot clean carpets.
• Carry out terminal cleaning procedures as prescribed by established procedures in preparation for new admissions.
• Clean isolation rooms according to specific Infection Prevention Control protocols.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must have obtained a score of 70% or greater on the Environmental Services Core Competency test

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be willing and prepared to operate all housekeeping related equipment including swing buffer, high speed burnisher and automatic scrubber
• Must be prepared and able to use all personal protective equipment including CBRN gear, full-faced mask, and Tyvek suit
• Must possess an Infection Control Core Competency Certificate
• Must be able to lift 20-30 pounds
• Must be able to perform the essential physical duties of the job
• Must be prepared to respond to and attend to Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) incidents
