Job summary

AgeCare Wenleigh in Mississauga is seeking an Environmental Services Manager to oversee housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance in our long-term care home. The role reports to the Executive Director and ensures a clean, safe, resident-centered environment for residents, staff and visitors.

You will develop routines, coordinate preventive maintenance, manage supplies, and collaborate with all departments. Relevant health-care experience and knowledge of LTC Act, OHS/WHMIS are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ supervisory experience in a health care or related setting.
• Knowledge of Long-Term Care Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS and related legislation.
• Experience overseeing environmental services including housekeeping, laundry and maintenance.

The role ensures that the home is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.What Is In It For YouDevelops, implements, and evaluates work routines, schedules, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective service delivery Oversees preventive maintenance programs and ensures building systems (HVAC, plumbing, safety systems, equipment, windows and door etc.) are compliant and operational.Oversees the requisition of materials and equipment, ensuring appropriate supply and inventory levels are maintained for environmental services.Regularly assesses/evaluates maintenance procedures and programs relating to the life expectancy of equipment.Ensures effective operation of environmental services including systems analysis, coordination, implementation and on-going monitoring and evaluation of revised policies, procedures, budgets, legislative requirements, etc.Collaborates with all other departments to ensure a safe, clean, and sanitary environment is maintained.Coordinates contractors and external service providersParticipates in the Home’s Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Program, ensuring environmental services practices support infection control standards.Develops and maintains staff schedules and duty assignments to ensure appropriate coverage and efficient service deliveryPrepares and submits regular reports in accordance with the Home’s policies and applicable long-term care legislative and regulatory requirements.Responsible for implementing and maintaining the organizations auditing program to ensure environmental services meet organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.What You Will NeedExperience in a managerial or supervisory capacity or, has the appropriate skills, knowledge and experience in a health care or relevant setting to perform the duties of the position.Minimum of two years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.Sound knowledge of the fixing Long-Term Care Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, public health best practices, WHMIS and other pertinent Federal, Provincial and Municipal legislation that influences the operation of a Long-term care residence.Knowledge and experience in maintenance, housekeeping and laundry proceduresSalary: $66,300.00 per yearSalary placement based on qualifications and experience.This job posting is for an active, open position, and all applications are reviewed by our team without the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
