AgeCare Wenleigh is seeking an Environmental Services Manager to oversee housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance in our long-term care home. You will supervise a multidisciplinary team, develop efficient work routines, and ensure a clean, safe environment for residents and staff.

You will collaborate with IPAC, facilities, and other departments, manage preventive maintenance, and report on operations to the Executive Director. Regular reviews ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Formación

• Experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity in health care or a related setting.
• Minimum of two years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of Long-Term Care Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, public health best practices, WHMIS and related legislation.

The Opportunity

The Environmental Services Manager, reporting to the Executive Director, is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and supervision of environmental services within the long-term care home, including housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance operations. The role ensures that the home is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

What Is In It For You

• Develops, implements, and evaluates work routines, schedules, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
• Oversees preventive maintenance programs and ensures building systems (HVAC, plumbing, safety systems, equipment, windows and door etc.) are compliant and operational.
• Oversees the requisition of materials and equipment, ensuring appropriate supply and inventory levels are maintained for environmental services.
• Regularly assesses/evaluates maintenance procedures and programs relating to the life expectancy of equipment.
• Ensures effective operation of environmental services including systems analysis, coordination, implementation and on-going monitoring and evaluation of revised policies, procedures, budgets, legislative requirements, etc.
• Collaborates with all other departments to ensure a safe, clean, and sanitary environment is maintained.
• Coordinates contractors and external service providers
• Participates in the Home's Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Program, ensuring environmental services practices support infection control standards.
• Develops and maintains staff schedules and duty assignments to ensure appropriate coverage and efficient service delivery
• Prepares and submits regular reports in accordance with the Home's policies and applicable long-term care legislative and regulatory requirements.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining the organizations auditing program to ensure environmental services meet organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

What You Will Need

• Experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity or, has the appropriate skills, knowledge and experience in a health care or relevant setting to perform the duties of the position.
• Minimum of two years' experience in a supervisory capacity.
• Sound knowledge of the fixing Long-Term Care Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, public health best practices, WHMIS and other pertinent Federal, Provincial and Municipal legislation that influences the operation of a Long-term care residence.
• Knowledge and experience in maintenance, housekeeping and laundry procedures

Salary: $66,300.00 per hour

Salary placement based on qualifications and experience.
