North Bay Regional Health Centre is seeking a Housekeeping staff member to maintain a clean environment, operate cleaning equipment, and follow safety protocols. The role requires physical activity including lifting, pushing, and walking, with flexibility to work various shifts. Applicants should have Grade 12 and are encouraged to have the Environmental Services course.

Bilingualism is an asset. As per CUPE 139 agreement, terms and benefits apply.

Qualifications

Department: Environmental Services

QUALIFICATIONS

Certification/Experience/Knowledge:

• Grade 12 Graduate or equivalent required
• Must demonstrate ability to respond to all Codes (Red, White, etc)
• Completion of the Ontario Health Care Housekeepers Association Environmental Services Course for Front Line Staff an asset

Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to clean the physical environment
• Ability to push/pull carts (1.5 kg to 10 kg force) and lift 18kg
• Be willing and prepared to operate all housekeeping related equipment including automatic floor scrubber, vacuum and steam cleaner.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the position including continuous/frequent: walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 18 kg), twisting and the ability to climb ladders as needed
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required
• Must be available for scheduled shifts and call-ins
• Good attendance and work record required
• Must demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients volunteers and visitors
• Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
• Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is an asset
