Job summary

North Bay Regional Health Centre's Environmental Services department seeks a dedicated team member for cleaning and facilities support. The role requires responding to codes, operating housekeeping equipment, and upholding safety standards.

Applicants must have Grade 12 or equivalent; bilingual English/French is an asset. All hires meet CRC or VSC requirements, per organizational policy. CUPE 139 agreements govern pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent required.
• Must demonstrate ability to respond to all Codes (Red, White, etc).
• Completion of the Ontario Health Care Housekeepers Association Environmental Services Course an asset.
• Ability to clean the physical environment.
• Ability to push/pull carts and lift up to 18 kg.
• Willing to operate housekeeping equipment including floor scrubber, vacuum, steam cleaner.
• Physical demands include walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 18 kg, twisting, climbing ladders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certification/Experience/Knowledge:

• Grade 12 Graduate or equivalent required
• Must demonstrate ability to respond to all Codes (Red, White, etc)
• Completion of the Ontario Health Care Housekeepers Association Environmental Services Course for Front Line Staff an asset

Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to clean the physical environment
• Ability to push/pull carts (1.5 kg to 10 kg force) and lift 18kg
• Be willing and prepared to operate all housekeeping related equipment including automatic floor scrubber, vacuum and steam cleaner.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the position including continuous/frequent: walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 18 kg), twisting and the ability to climb ladders as needed
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required
• Must be available for scheduled shifts and call-ins
• Good attendance and work record required
• Must demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients volunteers and visitors
• Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
• Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is an asset
