Job description

City Experiences is seeking an Environmental Services Agent for our City Cruises operation in Niagara.

*Please note, this is a seasonal/contract position*

About You:

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

About the Opportunity:

The Environmental Services Agent will ensure the facilities and restroom areas are clean, pleasant to use, and functioning properly. This role involves heavy public contact; therefore, we are looking for individuals who take pride in their appearance and have superb guest service & communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean bathrooms regularly, including replenishing supplies such as soap and toilet paper; adhering to quality standards.
  • Check all garbage and recycling bins, emptying them when necessary.
  • Sweep, vacuum, and mop inside and outside locations.
  • Use checklists to complete Start of Day and End of Day tasks in offices, ticket plaza, and lower landing.
  • Collect garbage and recycling on land and separate each accurately to individual compactors and dumpsters.
  • Log job duties and daily tasks as set forth in documentation requirements.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties such as carpet and window cleaning.
  • Provide quality customer service, information, and instructions to guests as requested to enhance the guest experience.
  • Communicate corrective and preventative actions to the Shift Manager regarding operational system failures.
  • Work effectively with other staff to ensure job responsibilities are completed for the subsequent shift.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices and safety to promote a work environment free of hazards.
  • Apply practices and policies communicated in training to assure quality, environmental, and safety standards are met.
  • Assist coworkers to accomplish necessary projects and tasks; work together as a team.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
  • Report to work on time for all scheduled shifts.
  • Understand all Niagara City Cruises’ policies and procedures relating to the employee’s role within the company.
  • Complete any other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • O.S.S.D. or equivalent as recognized by the Ministry of Education.
  • Two (2) years cleaning experience preferred.
  • Valid Ontario drivers license, Class G2 or higher preferred.
  • Experience in a customer-oriented environment.
  • Must be willing to work all shifts including days/evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move or lift up to 35 pounds (16 kilograms).
  • Walk, stand, sit, and work in all types of weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
