Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking an Environmental Services staff member to maintain a clean, safe hospital environment at Galahad Care Centre. You will perform cleaning, disinfection, restocking and basic maintenance tasks to support patient care and comfort.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 25 lbs and push/pull up to 50 lbs, and experience with WHMIS in a healthcare setting. Training and orientation may be provided.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Knowledge and operation of computers and smartphones.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive movements.

Description

As an Environmental Services staff, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with cleaning and disinfecting clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments within a hospital or facility. Your typical duties may include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming; restocking supplies in bathroom facilities; stripping linen and making beds; operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration; thorough washing of ceilings and windows; emptying hazardous waste; and replenishing cleaning supplies and linens. You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting potential hazards to your Working Leader and you may also provide training or orientation to Environmental or Laundry staff.
