Alberta Health Services is seeking an Environmental Services staff to perform cleaning and disinfecting of clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments within a hospital or facility. Typical duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restocking bathroom supplies, stripping linen and making beds, and operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance.
You may identify hazards to your Working Leader and may train or orient Environmental or Laundry staff.
In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
As an Environmental Services staff, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with cleaning and disinfecting clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments within a hospital or facility. Your typical duties may include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming; restocking supplies in bathroom facilities; stripping linen and making beds; operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration; thorough washing of ceilings and windows; emptying hazardous waste; and replenishing cleaning supplies and linens. You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting potential hazards to your Working Leader and you may also provide training or orientation to Environmental or Laundry staff.
Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.Knowledge and operation of computers and smartphones.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements for the duration of your shift.Physically capable to lift up to 25 lbs and push and pull up to 50 lbs of force.
