Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking an Environmental Services II to clean and disinfect patient rooms and clinical areas in healthcare facilities. You will be trained to follow AHS standards, working in hospital and staff/public areas, ensuring safety and cleanliness.

Typical duties include sweeping, mopping, restocking, linen handling, and operating cleaning equipment. Strong communication and reliability are required, with awareness of hazards and ability to work with supervision as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements.
• Physically capable to lift up to 25 lbs and push and pull up to 50 lbs of force.

Your Opportunity:

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for a dependable, highly motivated individual for the position of Environmental Services II (cleaner/housekeeper trained to work in healthcare) that is dedicated to both high-quality work and safety. AHS will provide the necessary training to safely clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas, office areas, and other common staff/public areas in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices.

Description:

As an Environmental Services staff, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with cleaning and disinfecting clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments within a hospital or facility. Your typical duties may include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming; restocking supplies in bathroom facilities; stripping linen and making beds; operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration; thorough washing of ceilings and windows; emptying hazardous waste; and replenishing cleaning supplies and linens. You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting potential hazards to your Working Leader and you may also provide training or orientation to Environmental or Laundry staff.
