Remote Retention Allowance

Job summary

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a dependable Environmental Services worker trained to operate in a healthcare setting at the High Prairie Health Complex. You will perform cleaning tasks across patient areas, restock supplies, and handle linens, using industrial equipment as required.

A Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3,000 annually is paid hourly alongside the basic pay. This casual/relief role requires Grade 10 or equivalent, basic computer/smartphone use, and the ability to lift

Your Opportunity

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for a dependable, highly motivated individual for the position of Environmental Services (cleaner/housekeeper trained to work in healthcare) who is dedicated to both high-quality work and safety. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.


• Knowledge and operation of computers and smartphones.


• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements for the duration of your shift.


• Physically capable to lift up to 25 lbs and push and pull up to 50 lbs of force.

Additional Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, able to follow oral and written instruction.


• Basic knowledge and operation of a computer and a smart phone.


• Must be dependable and able to work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience preferred.


• Experience performing cleaning duties in a healthcare environment would be an asset.
