Environmental Scientist / Technician - Contract Duties and Responsibilities

We have an immediate, full-time contract opening in our Ottawa office for an Environmental Scientist or Environmental Technician to become part of our growing site investigation and remediation team. This role is expected to end in December.

Successful candidates will be involved in a variety of projects for the public and private sector. Work will include conducting Phase One and Phase Two Environmental Site Assessments, undertaking facility decommissioning and soil and groundwater remediation programs, conducting environmental management programs (including air, water, and soil vapour sampling), and contributing to data interpretation / analysis and the preparation of technical reports.

All work assignments require wearing personal protective equipment in adhering to Company and Client Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level or early‑career candidate looking to join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, and employee‑focused engineering and science consultancy.

Candidates will need to have :

  • an undergraduate degree or college diploma in Environmental Science, Earth Science, Geology, or Engineering;
  • a basic knowledge of earth science, geology, hydrogeology, and environmental chemistry;
  • general experience with the MS Office suite of software such as Excel, Words, and Teams;
  • a love of the outdoors and a willingness to work in a hands‑on environment;
  • an ability to meet challenging deadlines; and,
  • a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license (Class G), as the position involves some travel within Ontario.
