Job summary

Meadow Lake Tribal Council (MLTC) is seeking a motivated Environmental Public Health Officer (EPHO) to join their Health & Social Development Department on a full-time, permanent basis. The EPHO will develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive program to monitor environmental health conditions across member First Nations.

Working in a team, the EPHO provides inspection and surveillance services, advises leadership on drinking water, housing, food safety, and waste disposal, and delivers

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report on environmental health conditions among member First Nations.
• Provide public health inspection and surveillance services to MLTC communities.
• Make recommendations to Chief and Council on matters related to drinking water, housing, food safety, communicable disease, solid and liquid waste disposal.
• Provide guidance on environmental contaminants, emergency preparedness and other compliance issues.
• Provide training and support to Water Quality Technicians.
• Conduct Food Safety training.
