Job summary

A health services organization in British Columbia is seeking an Environmental Health Officer. This role supports Health Promotion & Protection Services, ensuring compliance with health regulations through public health inspections and community engagement. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Environmental Health, a Public Health Inspection certificate, and possess effective communication and analytical skills. This is a full-time position offering a salary of CAD $39.26 - $49.01/hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or equivalent experience required.
• Must hold a Public Health Inspection certificate.
• Valid BC Class V Driver’s License necessary.

Responsibilities

• Investigate public health complaints and issue orders as needed.
• Inspect food processing and handling establishments.
• Conduct epidemiological investigations into food-borne illness outbreaks.
• Participate in pest management control.
• Prepare reports and analyze public health data.
• Facilitate community engagement on health initiatives.
