Your responsibilities will include analyzing environmental data, proposing environmentally responsible solutions, and providing expert guidance to establish, oversee, and report on regulatory activities for our mining and/or upstream and midstream oil and gas programs.

Contribute with Purpose

  • Manage Phase 2 / Stage 2 ESAs, Detailed Site Assessments, and Remediation and Reclamation applications.
  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies, including the AER, AEP and federal agencies, to ensure compliance and achieve environmental closure.
  • Engage with diverse stakeholders, including Indigenous partners, municipal representatives, and energy producers, to align project goals and address community concerns.
  • Completion and/or review of reports, plans, and assessments pertaining to the investigation, reclamation, remediation, and management of contaminated sites.
  • Preparation and submission of recommendations to the regulators for issuance of a reclamation or remediation certificate.
  • Oversee and provide final approval on comprehensive project reports, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with project objectives before submission to stakeholders.
  • Analyze and interpret collected field data and write comprehensive technical reports.
  • Oversee budget tracking and manage contractor relationships to ensure project milestones and financial objectives are met.
  • Commit to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Actively participate in safety initiatives, report potential hazards, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

Showcase your Talents

  • Undergraduate degree in Agrology, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Forestry, Land Reclamation, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental project management, with a focus on site assessments, remediation, and reclamation within the oil, gas, or energy sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental site assessments (Phase 1 and Phase 2 ESA) and regulatory compliance, particularly with the AER, AEP and federal permitting requirements.
  • Strong understanding of contamination assessments, exposure control plans, sub-soil salinity tool application and site-specific liability assessments (SSLA) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with environmental remediation, reclamation, and restoration techniques, especially on contaminated sites and spill-impacted areas.
  • Proficient in designing and executing site characterization, delineation programs, and spill response/clean-up operations.
