Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking an intermediate Environmental Planner/Project Manager (5–10 years) to join the Assessment and Permitting team within the Environmental Services practice, focusing on the Oil and Gas sector.

You will lead or support day‑to‑day environmental assessment and regulatory approvals for diverse clients, collaborating with agencies and technical specialists. You will work with teams across Canada to deliver environmental planning, permitting, and

Qualifications

• A university degree or post‑graduate college diploma in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, or a related field is required.
• 5–10 years of experience in environmental program and project development, implementation, and management, with a focus on infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience in undertaking environmental impact assessments, environmental programs, environmental compliance, and/or coordinating the acquisition of permits and approvals.

Responsibilities

• Manage project tasks and deliverables and assist with implementing the environmental assessment and permitting process as it applies to projects.
• Communicate and liaise with a variety of project stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, members of the public, and internal multi-disciplinary teams.
• Write and coordinate proposals and reports tailored to specific project requirements.
• Manage project tasks and deliverables related to environmental components and/or Ontario Energy Board environmental studies.
• Conduct desktop studies to support regulatory requirements for various assignments.
• Develop and implement consultation programs with a focus on diverse stakeholders.
• Communicate and liaise effectively with project stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, regulatory agencies, Indigenous communities, and the public.
• Work with a group of professionals across Canada, focusing on environmental assessments, permitting and regulatory compliance.
