Job Description

We currently have an opening for an Intermediate Environmental Planner in our Edmonton office. You should have a strong background in navigating provincial and federal legislation for linear and infrastructure projects. The role requires leadership, collaboration, critical thinking, and involvement in project planning, implementation, management, and business development. Knowledge of Alberta Environment related permitting and approvals is essential.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Navigating the regulatory approval process and providing strategic advice in project planning.
  2. Preparing scientific and technical reports, permits, and regulatory documents.
  3. Managing projects, including budgets, schedules, client relations, technical leadership, and team coordination.
  4. Business development through proposal writing and client relationship management.
  5. Leading projects through federal, provincial, and municipal regulatory processes.
Job Requirements

What you will bring:

  • Undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) in a relevant science; graduate degree preferred.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with a professional organization (e.g., ASPB, AIA).
  • 5+ years of post-graduation experience in environmental consulting focused on regulatory and permit delivery.
  • Strong project management skills (more than 3 years).
  • Understanding of provincial and federal legislation, regulations, and permitting processes.
  • Leadership and client relationship skills.
  • Excellent communication and technical report writing skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
