SLR Consulting (Americas) is seeking an Environmental Planner based in Winnipeg, Manitoba to join the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment team. The successful candidate will support multidisciplinary projects across Canada, focusing on regulatory compliance, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

Young professionals with 3–5 years of experience will engage in writing, coordination, and potential field program involvement, contributing to proposals and client deliverables.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in a related environmental discipline (environmental science or engineering, ecology, environmental law/policy).
• 3–5 years experience; considered an asset.
• Strong writing, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Understanding of municipal, provincial, and federal environmental regulatory and permitting requirements.
• Willingness to travel within Canada.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day implementation of environmental impact assessment, permitting, compliance and due diligence projects across sectors and geographies.
• Report writing, research and desktop studies, with potential for field program participation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and compile technical documents for regulatory submissions.
• Implement consultation and engagement programs, communicating with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Support business development activities, including proposals and pre-qualification submissions.
• Assist with project management duties including budget, scope and schedule tracking.
• Promote a positive work environment through teamwork and cooperation.

Post‑secondary degree specializing in a related technical environmental discipline (environmental science or engineering, ecology, environmental law/policy). Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. 3‑5 years experience, considered an asset.

We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. We are looking for an Environmental Planner to play an important role on our Environmental and Social Impact Assessment team. If you are an early‑career professional, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

• Supporting day‑to‑day implementation of small to large‑scale multidisciplinary environmental impact assessment, permitting, compliance and due diligence projects across multiple sectors and geographies.
• Report writing, research and desktop studies, with potential for participation in some field programs.
• Multidisciplinary team coordination including compilation of technical documents to support regulatory submissions.
• Implementing consultation and engagement programs, including effectively communicating with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Supporting business development activities, such as contributing to proposals and pre‑qualification submissions.
• Assisting with project management duties including budget, scope and schedule tracking.
• Promoting and maintaining a positive work environment through a culture of teamwork and cooperation.

Qualifications

• Post‑secondary degree specializing in a related technical environmental discipline (environmental science or engineering, ecology, environmental law/policy).
• 3‑5 years experience, considered an asset.
• Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong technical writing skills, with an ability to synthesize technical information and develop plain language summaries.
• An understanding of municipal, provincial, and federal environmental regulatory and permitting requirements.
• Experience in a similar role in an environmental consulting environment is considered an asset.
• An understanding of international environmental and social impact assessment standards, guidelines and processes is an asset.
• Ability to travel within Canada periodically, as required.
