What you can expect to do here:

As an Environmental Planner, you will:

  • Assist in preparing environmental planning documentation for transportation and other infrastructure planning projects
  • Support environmental assessments and consultation processes under Ontario’s EA frameworks (Municipal Class EA, MTO Class EA, Transit Project Assessment Process)
  • Help compile and review technical documents for regulatory approvals
  • Participate in stakeholder and Indigenous engagement initiatives
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to project coordination
  • Learn the ropes of project management and support proposal development

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • A bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, science, or a related field
  • Up to 2 years of experience (including internships or co-op placements)
  • Familiarity with Ontario’s EA processes and environmental legislation is a plus
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • A collaborative spirit and eagerness to learn
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation (Environmental Assessment Act, Endangered Species Act, Ontario Heritage Act, etc.)
  • Eligibility or interest in becoming a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) with OPPI or obtaining Environmental Professional certification from ECO Canada
