Title: EH&S Specialist – Industrial Hygiene

Contract length: 12+ months

Location: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta T8L 2P4 (Onsite)

Schedule: 9/80

Job Description:

• Shares responsibility for implementing the Industrial Hygiene management system to meet business objectives and maintain the license to operate.
• Provides hands-on industrial hygiene (IH) and health and safety (H&S) activities for the site.
• Requires broad technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined set of activities.
• May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities / Duties

• Implements detailed, task-level IH programs, utilizing EH&S work processes, standards, and procedures.
• Ensures that IH and H&S aspects of operating discipline are adequate and applied to achieve EH&S performance goals. Often acts as the section owner for IH aspects of operating discipline.
• Serves as the plant resource for IH procedures, guidelines, and standards.
• Acts as the contact for IH and H&S issues.
• Coaches teams and individuals on IH-related tasks and activities.
• Assists in developing and achieving area EH&S goals.
• Ensures timely completion of compliance tasks.
• Performs and coordinates IH monitoring, data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Experience

• Completion of a short-cycle tertiary degree (e.g., associate’s degree) in a related field plus EH&S, manufacturing, or other relevant experience. Equivalent years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Qualifications include Radiation Safety Officer certification and experience with Cority.
