Role Overview

We seek a self-motivated, safety-focused Environmental Engineer willing to travel across Canada. The role involves monitoring environmental compliance at various facilities and collaborating on projects related to environmental studies, facility expansions, and landfill gas and leachate management systems, with an emphasis on reducing greenhouse gases.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental compliance inspections at waste facilities nationwide.
• Support operational, design, and compliance challenges.
• Develop expertise in landfill gas utilization and leachate management.
• Coordinate with external consultants on planning, design, and construction projects.
• Assist with environmental permits and review monitoring reports.
• Develop safety, emergency, spill, and stormwater plans.
• Review design and development plans, develop cost estimates, and evaluate proposals.
• Maintain records and liaise with regulatory agencies.
• Represent the company at conferences and community events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Applied Science or Engineering Degree.
• Registered Professional Engineer or working towards it (Engineer in Training).
• At least five years of professional experience in North America.
• Experience in waste engineering, construction, or environmental consulting.
• Knowledge of Canadian Environmental Laws is beneficial.
• Strong communication and report writing skills.
• Valid Driver’s License; ability to travel as needed.
• Bilingual in English / French is a plus.
