Job summary

Green Infrastructure Partners seeks an Environmental Coordinator in Toronto to support environmental compliance across the project lifecycle. You will implement the Environmental Management System, coordinate monitoring, and liaise with authorities, contractors and the Technical Services team. The role requires a B.Sc.

in Environmental Engineering, 3–5 years in construction, and strong regulatory knowledge. Transit project experience is preferred.

Come help build the future, where our work makes the world work!Environmental CoordinatorToronto, ONSUMMARYReporting into the Assistant Project Manager, the Environmental Coordinator is responsible for supporting and driving environmental compliance, and overall environmental risk management across the project lifecycle. This role plays a critical part in the Project Quality & Environmental Function and works closely with the Technical Services team, construction crews, sub-contractors, and external Environmental Authorities.PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLEEnsure the day-to-day implementation of the Environmental Management System and auditing and reporting its performance.Coordinating all environmental issues associated with the Project on a day-to-day basis, including overseeing the environmental monitoring program.Establishing and maintaining working relationships with relevant Environmental Authorities and Interested Parties.Ensure environmental issues and requirements are met in accordance with the Project Agreement.Provide direction, support, and leadership to the project team in all matters relating to environmental regulations, permits and requirements.Develop, implement, and maintain an effective health environmental management system for the project, in conformance with the ISO 14001 standard requirements.Support the project team in the preparation and submission of applications for environmental permits, and their management.Oversee the environmental aspects of the project design.Work closely with the Technical Services team to ensure all environmental aspects are addressed and project schedules are met.Coordinate with environmental sub-contractors to provide specialty input and direction.Analyze and identify leading and lagging trends to assist in environmental protection and compliance.Participate in and/or provide direction to others conducting environmental considerations, review site needs, including identify and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance and knowledge.Compile quarterly and annual reports to update ongoing environmental processes and address current issues.Ensure compliance with all related environmental activities and identify and manage risks; verifies and monitors associated training requirements.Implementation of Design-Builder’s environmental obligations set out in the Contract.Ensure environmental issues are addressed and requirements are met in accordance with the Contract and all Environmental Reference DocumentsPOSITION REQUIREMENTSB.Sc. degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field3-5 years of Construction industry experience required.Experience in working on a Transit Project would be preferred.Familiarity with environmental regulations, and other relevant laws and regulations.Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment.Outcome focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyze and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business.Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives.Superb communication and interpersonal skillsStrong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities.Demonstrate versatility and resourcefulness in overcoming business challenges.WHAT WE OFFERExpected Base Salary: $70,000-$85,000 per year.
