Job summary

Ledcor Group is looking for an experienced Environmental Coordinator in Toronto, Ontario, to support large infrastructure projects. This role involves monitoring and reporting to ensure environmental compliance, conducting field inspections, and collaborating with operations to maintain project quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of field experience in environmental monitoring and a strong technical knowledge of regulatory requirements. A competitive compensation range of $80,100 - $106,800 is offered.

Qualifications

Job Overview

You are an experienced Environmental Coordinator with expertise in large infrastructure projects. You will perform monitoring and reporting duties associated with our Environmental Management System and Environmental Management Plans, Permits, Licenses and Approvals designed to manage environmental compliance around water, air, soil quality and environmentally sensitive areas and species. You will be responsible for all aspects regarding the safeguarding of the environment associated with regular operations and contract obligations and applicable laws and regulations. This role may require occasional evening and/or night availability and field and site trailer responsibilities throughout the year. Come join our True Blue team in Toronto, ON today!

Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform field inspections for erosion and sedimentation controls, turbidity monitoring, noise and vibration, air quality, soil management, groundwater and stormwater management, invasive species monitoring, Tree Cut Permitting, Conservation Authority, and Permit to Take Water/Environmental Activity Sector Registry Permitting.
  • Familiar with construction excavation, trenching, Environmental Site Assessments, concrete washout management, piling, structural erection and earthworks.
  • Review inspection and testing results for conformity to requirements.
  • Collaborate with Operations and provide input on the Quality requirements for the development of Detailed Execution Plans; clearly identifying the required inspections, hold points, tests and required documentation.
  • Understand and interpret applicable contract documents, codes of construction and regulatory standards.
  • Present information clearly and in appropriate style, making technical information clear.
  • Schedule inspection and testing resources to support the requirements of operations.
  • Ensure all Inspection and Testing equipment is managed in accordance with the equipment calibration requirements.
  • Ensure non-conforming work is managed in accordance with the project quality issues reporting procedures.
  • Monitor the project schedule to ensure inspection and testing activities are completed to support operations requirements.
  • Manage and maintain Quality Document Logs and effectively communicate revisions to drawings, codes, and/or specifications.
  • Review, report and act on performance metrics.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of environmental standards, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • 5+ years of field experience in environmental monitoring in a construction environment.
  • Experience with excess soil management and reporting.
  • Exposure to coordinating inspections of offsite suppliers and subcontractors.
  • CAN-CISEC certification for Construction Erosion and Sedimentation Control Inspections (preferred).
  • ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems experience (a plus).
  • Strong computer background, proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; a positive and team-oriented approach to work.
Work Conditions

Field responsibilities throughout the year in varying weather and site conditions. Availability to work occasional evenings and nights.

Compensation

$80,100.00 - $106,800.00 is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
