Job summary

Arup in Toronto is offering an Environmental Consulting Intern position for January–April 2027. You will shadow projects across engineering, planning, and consulting, participate in billable work, and engage in internal and external meetings including potential client discussions.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Planning/Engineering/Environmental Science related area of study.
• Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas clearly, both written and verbally.
• Attitude of taking independent initiative, exhibiting creative problem-solving, eagerness to learn, while remaining dedicated to teamwork.
• Must be highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges.
• Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Job Shadowing across disciplines.
• Work across various engineering, planning, and consulting discipline groups.
• Working day to day on billable and active projects related to your area of study/discipline/major.
• Actively engage in online technical trainings.
• Engage in internal and external meetings (including potential client meetings).
• Participate in local events (staff meetings, panels, and networking events).
• Interpret and respond to design issues using listening and visual demonstrations.
• Provide perspective on projects and deliverables.

Toronto Hiring Range -The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $21.00 to $39.00 per hour. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Calgary will differ.
