Job summary

Safety-Kleen in Delta, BC is seeking an Entry level Sales and Service Representative (SSR) to join their safety conscious team. This Driver in Training role will learn the safe transport of hazardous and regulated waste using various trucks while following Transport Canada and TDG regulations.

Responsibilities include learning loading/unloading, adhering to weights, maintaining stock records, and daily logs.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Clean driving record and willingness to learn TDG requirements.
  • Previous industrial warehouse and inventory experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience highly regarded.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to transport hazardous waste safely in compliance with Transport Canada and TDG regulations.
  • Learn proper loading and unloading of hazardous/non-hazardous waste and segregation.
  • Adhere to weights and ensure proper use of company equipment.
  • Transfer materials and supplies for efficient flow through production areas.
  • Move parts and keep stock records, logs, and shortage reports up to date.
  • Operate tools and may use material handling equipment including forklifts.
  • Learn proper placarding to meet TDG requirements.
  • Maintain daily logs, timecards, expense reports, dispatch & trip reports and vehicle inspections.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Safety-Kleen in Delta, BC is seeking an Entry level Sales and Service Representative (SSR) to join their safety conscious team! This is a Driver in Training position that will be learning the safe transport of hazardous and regulated waste materials using box trucks, tankers, vans, and roll-off dump trucks. The role involves moving materials between customer sites, company facilities, and approved disposal locations while strictly following Transport Canada and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Learn to transport hazardous waste safely in compliance with Transport Canada and TDG regulations.
  • Responsible for learning to ensure proper loading and unloading of hazardous /non-hazardous waste (i.e., drums are properly segregated and loaded, etc.)
  • Adhere to weights and ensure proper utilization of Company equipment.
  • Transfers material, equipment, kits, and supplies required for efficient material flow through production/assembly areas.
  • Physically transfers material to assembly workstations, maintains bench stock and handles completed assemblies, jobs between work areas or cost centers. Locates, and transfers part shortages within the warehouse that may be required for completion of assemblies.
  • Verifies and maintains associated stock records, logs, shortage reports and other documentation.
  • Utilizes small hand tools and may operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet handlers, skids, hand trucks and the like.
  • Responsible for learning the proper placarding of vehicle to meet Company, Transport Canada, and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) requirements/regulations.
  • Learning how to maintain daily logs, worksheets, timecard, expense reports, dispatch & trip reports and vehicle inspection reports.
  • All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation required; Class 3 license considered a strong asset.
  • Clean Driving record.
  • Previous industrial warehouse and inventory experience required.
  • Forklift operating experience highly preferred.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills to assist customers.
  • Vacuum truck operating experience considered a strong asset.
  • Experience in the hazardous waste or environmental services industry is an asset.
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding role that also includes sales responsibilities.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with basic software applications required.
