Job summary

Battlefield Equipment Rentals is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Technician Level 1 in Charlottetown, PEI. You will perform daily maintenance, inspections, and quality checks on rental equipment, ensuring safety and reliability on our fleets.

The role requires hands-on mechanical work, some lifting, and collaboration with the service team to meet branch goals. We value an apprentice mindset, strong time management, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience and preventive maintenance skills.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a hands-on role.
• Team player with ability to multitask and take direction.
• Independent worker with strong time management and organization.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; Systematics a plus.
• Commitment to safe work practices and environmental care.
• Customer-focused communication and service mindset.
• Experience operating forklifts is preferred.
• CAT equipment knowledge is advantageous.
• Willing to support on-call schedules as required.
• Owns and brings personal tools to the job.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean, and inspect rental equipment daily.
• Perform QA inspections to ensure safe, complete operation.
• Test equipment and assess conditions for issues.
• Execute preventative maintenance tasks including oil and filters.
• Update documentation and data entry accurately.
• Keep shop, yard, and branch areas clean and organized.
• Load/unload customer rental gear as needed.
• Assist other technicians and service team members.
• Support branch operations with flexible duties.
• Collaborate with colleagues for smooth operations.
• Adhere to safety protocols and environmental practices.
