Job summary

InterRent REIT is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician to join our Operations team at our 11 Grandville community in Stoney Creek. This hands-on role focuses on keeping the property safe and well-maintained while delivering excellent service to residents.

The role is short-term, month-by-month, with compensation of $19.00 - $20.00/hr based on skills and experience. On-site work at 11 Grandville Hamilton, ON, with potential rotation to other sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience performing labour work is considered a strong asset.
• Some knowledge and professional experience in a wide variety of residential maintenance and light renovation tasks is considered an asset.
• Demonstrates a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and grow through mentorship.
• Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.

Responsibilities

• Performing repairs to rental properties as needed, during occupancy and during the transition of residents from units (turnovers).
• Performing routine and scheduled preventative maintenance of properties.
• Maintaining general upkeep of the properties to ensure all amenities are in good working order and operating to the satisfaction of our residents.
• Responding to emergency calls.
• Completing all approved maintenance related work orders.
• Taking initiative when corrective action is necessary and removing any identified hazards.
• Painting as necessary.
• Ensuring a thorough knowledge and understanding of all health, safety and emergency procedures.

Additional Information

• Most work will be completed on-site at 11 Grandville Hamilton, ON. The successful candidate may be required to work at other locations based on operational needs and at the discretion of the employer.
• Must have valid, class G driver’s license, access to personal vehicle, and clean drivers abstract.
• Ability to respond to emergencies during regular operating hours.
• Participation in an after-hours rotational response team may be required.
