Job summary

University of Toronto seeks entry level Landscape Technician staff to perform standard landscape duties under direct supervision. The roles include mowing, planting, equipment operation, snow removal, irrigation maintenance, and on-call winter shifts.

Requirements include Grade 12, 3 years related experience and a valid Ontario G class driver's license. Positions are temporary for 120 days with full-time schedule and a pay rate of $25.66 per hour.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent; related landscape courses are assets.
• Three years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Trims, cuts and waters grass and flowers; maintains soft landscaping.
• Drives and operates landscape and snow removal vehicles and equipment.
• Sets up and adjusts equipment; loads/unloads equipment.
• Performs cleaning duties including graffiti removal and debris.
• Works on snow/ice removal and moving details with appropriate vehicles.
• Maintains landscape irrigation and related systems.
• Provides instruction to Service Worker – Grounds staff.
• Other related duties as required.
