Job summary

STATE STREET CORPORATION seeks an experienced Atlassian & ServiceNow Engineer to manage and optimize enterprise platforms, ensuring reliability, automation, and security. You will work with Jira, Confluence, JSM, and ServiceNow, building workflows and integrations.

Strong collaboration with IT, Security, and Engineering teams is required. Ideal candidates bring 7–10 years of hands-on admin/engineering experience, RBAC/SSO knowledge, and a customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience administering Atlassian and ServiceNow platforms.
  • Experience with ITSM/ITIL processes and workflow automation.
  • Knowledge of RBAC, SSO, MFA, LDAP/AD, and identity integrations.
  • Ability to design and optimize workflows, forms, dashboards, and reports.
  • Experience in Agile/DevOps environments.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and Marketplace apps.
  • Administer ServiceNow modules (Service Catalog, Knowledge Management).
  • Configure Jira workflows, permissions, screens, and automation.
  • Develop and optimize Flow Designer, Workflow Editor, and IntegrationHub solutions.
  • Implement RBAC, SSO, and identity integrations; manage user provisioning.
  • Monitor platform health and implement automation to improve efficiency.

This role is critical to ensuring platform reliability, automation of business processes, operational excellence, and delivery of high-quality services to internal stakeholders.Who We Are Looking ForWe are looking for a highly motivated and technically proficient professional with 7–10 years of experience administering and engineering enterprise-scale Atlassian (Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management) and ServiceNow environments.The ideal candidate should possess strong platform administration expertise, automation experience, integration capabilities, governance knowledge, and a customer-focused mindset. The candidate must be comfortable working with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, security teams, and enterprise architects to deliver scalable and secure solutions.Key attributes include:Hands-on expertise administering Atlassian and ServiceNow platforms.Strong understanding of ITSM, ITIL, workflow automation, and service management processes.Experience designing and implementing custom workflows, forms, dashboards, and reports.Knowledge of identity and access management, RBAC, SSO, and platform security controls.Ability to troubleshoot complex platform issues and manage environments with high availability requirements.Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.What You Will Be Responsible ForPlatform Administration & OperationsAdminister and maintain Atlassian products including:Jira SoftwareJira Service Management (JSM)ConfluenceAtlassian Marketplace applicationsAdminister and maintain ServiceNow platform modules including:Service CatalogKnowledge ManagementManage system configurations, upgrades, patches, and platform releases.Ensure platform availability, performance, and capacity management.Workflow & Process AutomationDesign, build, and maintain workflows, forms, approvals, and automation rules.Develop and optimize ServiceNow Flow Designer, Workflow Editor, and IntegrationHub solutions.Configure Jira workflows, schemes, screens, permissions, and automation capabilities.Automate operational processes to improve efficiency and user experience.Security & GovernanceImplement and maintain role-based access controls (RBAC).Manage user provisioning, deprovisioning, permissions, and group management.Support SSO, MFA, LDAP/AD, Azure AD, and identity integrations.Ensure compliance with organizational security standards, audit requirements, and governance controls.Conduct periodic platform access reviews and security assessments.Integrations & DevelopmentBuild and maintain integrations between ServiceNow, Atlassian tools, and enterprise systems.Support REST APIs, webhooks, middleware, and integration frameworks.Develop scripts and automation using JavaScript, PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies where required.Troubleshoot integration failures and performance bottlenecks.Monitoring & ReportingDevelop operational dashboards, metrics, and executive reporting.Monitor platform health, usage, performance, and adoption.Implement proactive monitoring and alerting mechanisms.Support audits and provide evidence for compliance reviews.Stakeholder EngagementPartner with IT, Security, Engineering, and Business teams to understand requirements.Provide platform consultation, best practices, and technical guidance.Lead or support platform enhancement projects and service improvement initiatives.Mentor junior administrators and platform support personnel.What We ValueWe value professionals who demonstrate:Ownership and accountability for platform reliability and service quality.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Continuous improvement mindset and passion for automation.Customer-first approach to service delivery.Attention to detail with a focus on security and compliance.Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for business stakeholders.Strong collaboration across geographically distributed teams.Commitment to operational excellence and fostering innovation.Education & Preferred QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.Preferred CertificationsAtlassian Certified Professional (ACP)ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)Work RequirementExpected to work 3 days in from base location per weekSalary Range:$67,000 - $109,750 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
