Position Summary :

We are seeking a hands-on, experienced Enterprise Data Architect (MDM) to spearhead our organization's data transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will design and implement enterprise data architecture that bridges our legacy systems with modern cloud-based platforms including Azure, AWS, Workday, and Salesforce. This role is critical in our transition from on-premises infrastructure to cloud solutions, with primary focus on MDM strategy implementation (Master Data Management and Meta Data Management), data integration, data management, ETL architecture, and data modeling. You will be the technical authority ensuring data quality and integrity during system migrations while establishing architectural patterns that support future business growth and regulatory compliance, and to lead the transition from an integration perspective.

Role and Responsibilities :

Enterprise Data Architecture and Modeling

  • Design and maintain hybrid (cloud / on-prem) enterprise data architecture
  • Create cloud-native data models optimized for platforms like Azure, AWS, Workday and Salesforce
  • Develop logical and physical data models that enhance reporting and ETL structures
  • Design data structures supporting real-time and batch processing needs
  • Establish data modeling standards for both traditional and cloud-native architectures
  • Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories

Cloud Migration and Integration Architecture

  • Architect cloud migration strategies for data systems
  • Design hybrid cloud integration patterns
  • Implementation of complex API integration and data integration mechanisms
  • Create specifications for complex API-to-database integrations
  • Design event-driven architectures for real-time data processing
  • Ensure data consistency across hybrid environments
  • Design fault-tolerant and scalable integration patterns

Data Discovery and Migration Planning

  • Conduct system analysis to reverse engineer existing data structures
  • Create detailed data mapping specifications for migration projects
  • Design data transformation and cleansing strategies
  • Develop migration patterns for complex data including Finance, HR, Clinical and Operations
  • Plan staged migration approaches minimizing business disruption
  • Create validation frameworks for migrated data
  • Document data lineage and dependencies
  • Design rollback and recovery strategies for migrations

Technical Design and Implementation Leadership

  • Lead and implement Master Data Management and Meta Data Management pipelines, mechanisms and models
  • Design ETL / ELT processes for hybrid environments
  • Establish architecture patterns for microservices and APIs
  • Review and approve integration designs
  • Provide technical guidance on cloud-native development
  • Create and maintain technical standards documentation
  • Guide teams on best practices for cloud data modeling

Performance Optimization and Monitoring

  • Design scalable data architectures for cloud environments
  • Develop performance monitoring frameworks
  • Create data quality metrics and validation approaches
  • Optimize data models for cloud performance
  • Design disaster recovery and business continuity approaches

Additional Responsibilities :

  • Requirements gathering and analysis; user stories, technical / data specification documents
  • Actively participate in product selection and evaluation (such as AWS or Azure products)
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions including interviews and meetings
  • Develop complex SQL queries, scripts, and database objects
  • Partner with other technical counterparts to achieve implementation goals
  • Be the SME for many different subjects including Finance, HR, Operations, etc.

Qualifications and Experience :

  • Bachelor's / master's degree in computer science, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or related field
  • At least 6 years of data architect and enterprise architect experience as well as several years of development experience in app design or database management or data development
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure / AWS) and SaaS integration (Workday / Salesforce)
  • Expert-level knowledge of SQL : complex query concepts, OLAP queries, etc.
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud migration strategies
  • Knowledge of data architecture, ETL architecture, data modelling concepts
  • Experience working closely with business stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of SQL Server, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and PostgreSQL

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience developing or using APIs to manage data
  • Experience with healthcare data systems
  • Salesforce and Workday
  • Previous experience working on Finance, HR or Healthcare projects
