Role Description:

We are seeking an English Teacher to begin with summer school credit courses in August, and continue into the 2025-2026 academic year starting in September. The English Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to secondary students, creating lesson plans, and developing the curriculum. The role also involves teaching English literature and fostering a positive learning environment.

Qualifications:

• English Teaching and Qualified Teacher certification
• Strong knowledge of English Literature, English credited courses
• Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passionate about teaching and inspiring students
• Flexibility and adaptability in the classroom
• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Additional qualifications in ESL teaching or special education are beneficial

Job duties:

• Instructs students, using various teaching methods, for example lecture and demonstration, and uses audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations.
• Prepares course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of school.
• Assigns lessons and corrects homework.
• Administers tests to evaluate students' progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress.
• Keeps and maintains attendance records, and follows up with principal and guardians, as needed.
• Performs related duties, for example sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting course of study, and counselling student in adjustment and academic problems.
• Instructs and monitors students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Updates all necessary records accurately and completely as required by Ministry and school regulations
• Performs certain pastoral duties including but not limited to student support, counselling students with academic problems and providing student encouragement

Hourly rate: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9.30am-3.45pm
