Cuso International seeks volunteers for an English teaching placement in Tanzania, focusing on enhancing the skills of local educators. This opportunity is for Canadian citizens and aims to create impactful educational experiences while offering essential support during the stay.
This Volunteer Placement is located in: Iringa, Tanzania
Start Date: April / May 2025
Placement Length: 6 months with the possibility of extension
Language Requirements: English Level 5 - Fluent
Eligibility: Open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada only
This placement will support efforts to strengthen the capacity of VETA Dodoma teachers in teaching English to VETA students. The English teacher is expected to provide technical assistance to other English teachers and teach in class to enhance students' English skills.

Cuso International supports a modest lifestyle similar to local standards. The support package covers basic living expenses but not luxury items or home-based expenses.

Participants will receive training and resources to prepare for their placement, including online modules and external resources.
Cuso International upholds high ethical standards, emphasizing the protection of vulnerable populations and adherence to policies against harassment, exploitation, and abuse.
Applicants are mainly based in Canada but can be from outside. It is their responsibility to understand immigration implications before traveling, especially for Permanent Residents of Canada.
