Ebco Industries, Ltd. (Ebco) in Richmond, BC is seeking an Engineering Technologist to assemble, test and service cyclotrons and related systems at our Vancouver facility and at customer sites worldwide.

You will provide remote and on-site technical support, commission systems, and prepare FAT reports, with drawings updated from as‑built information. Engineering technologist diploma required; cyclotron/LINAC experience assets.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Technologist diploma; preference for candidates with a Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering degree.
  • Experience with particle accelerator technology (cyclotrons or LINACs) is a strong asset.
  • Mechanical/electro‑mechanical system design and drafting experience is an asset.
  • Experience and expertise in preparing and checking 2D fabrication drawings compliant with ISO/CSA/ANSI standards is an asset.
  • Experience working in ISO controlled development processes is an asset.

Summary

Reporting to Ebco Team Lead, the engineering technologist in this full time position will be responsible for assembling, testing and servicing cyclotrons and associated systems, both in the Vancouver facility and abroad internationally at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing remote and on-site technical support to customers
  • Commissioning systems at customer sites
  • Assembling and testing of electro-mechanical systems per assembly drawings and schematics
  • Assisting with hands‑on problem‑solving during fabrication, assembly, and installation of components.
  • Completing support documentation, such as Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) reports.
  • Updating existing components and assembly drawings based on as-built information.
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned by management.
What You'll Bring:
Education/ Experience
  • Engineering Technologist diploma; preference for candidates with a Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering degree
  • Previous experience with particle accelerator technology (such as Cyclotrons or LINACs) is a strong asset
  • Mechanical and electro‑mechanical system design and drafting experience is an asset.
  • Experience and expertise in preparing and checking 2D fabrication drawings in compliance with relevant standards for dimensioning and tolerancing (ISO, CSA, and ANSI standards) is an asset
  • Experience working in an ISO controlled development processes is an asset
Knowledge/ Skills / Abilities
  • Self‑motivated and able to carry out assignments with limited instruction, recognize problems and take corrective action when appropriate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Familiar and comfortable with hand tools (such as: wrenches, drills, saws, soldering irons, wire crimpers, calipers, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of material properties and manufacturing/ fabrication technology and processes: machining, forming, assembly techniques (e.g. welding, soldering, brazing) is considered an asset.
  • Proficient with assembling, testing, installing mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience working with electronics and electrical AC/DC circuits.
  • Basic understanding of Engineering documentation, improvement and revision control processes is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of vacuum (cryogenic) systems, high voltage, or RF systems is considered an asset
  • Ability to draft technical reports and documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).

Job Type : Full-Time

Salary Range : $60,000.00 - $80,000.00

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Must be able to travel internationally for installation and service trips to customer sites.
  • Most work is carried out in EBCO's office and assembly shop. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and safety footwear must be worn in the assembly shop.
  • Fast paced environment with production priorities that shift often to meet current demands.
