Job summary

Allied Mechanical is seeking an Engineering Support Clerk to handle clerical and data-entry tasks supporting Engineering and Production Control.

You will prepare manufacturing paperwork, enter information into company systems, and organize documents to ensure smooth production flow.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in data entry/clerical duties in a manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing documents such as work orders, routers, travelers, shop books, blueprints, drawings.
  • Experience working with an ERP, MRP, manufacturing, or document-management system is preferred.
  • Ability to accurately enter information into computer systems, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Ability to follow established processes and procedures consistently.

Responsibilities

  • Print and assemble work order routers.
  • Release routers to Production Control.
  • Provide filing and document support as needed, including shop books and blueprints (B/Ps).
  • Organize folders and files alphabetically and numerically.
  • Log in to and work within the company’s computer system.
  • Perform general clerical and data-entry duties.
  • Maintain accuracy and organization while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Production Control to support daily operations.
  • Follow established procedures for handling controlled or production-related documents.
  • Assist with scanning and electronically storing historical manufacturing records.
  • Assist with maintaining departmental spreadsheets, logs, trackers, and other routine records.
  • Help identify missing, incomplete, or incorrectly filed paperwork and bring discrepancies to the attention of the appropriate employee or supervisor

Pay Range: $20 - $21 per hour base pay.

SUMMARY : The Engineering Support Clerk provides clerical, data-entry, and document support to the Engineering and Production Control departments. This position is responsible for preparing and processing manufacturing paperwork, entering and maintaining information in company computer systems, organizing and filing documents, and assisting with the flow of production-related documentation throughout the organization.

PRIMARY DUTIES Include the following but other duties may be assigned. *

  • Print and assemble work order routers.
  • Release routers to Production Control.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reports unsafe conditions to manager. Attend all required safety training.
  • Assures that their area is safe and cleaned at all times.
  • Assist other department and/or areas as requested by management or supervisor.
  • Follows all company policies and safety guidelines. Reports all accidents & injuries immediately.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not supervise any other personnel.

SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE

    • 1 year of experience in data entry/ clerical duties in a manufacturing operations.
    • Computer proficiency in MS Office including, but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing documents such as work orders, routers, travelers, shop books, blueprints, drawings, or similar production documentation is preferred.
  • Experience working with an ERP, MRP, manufacturing, or document-management system is preferred.
  • Ability to accurately enter information into computer systems, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Ability to follow established processes and procedures consistently.

EDUCATION

A High School Diploma/ GED or a combination of work experience and education will be considered.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing their job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend approximately 95% (excluding breaks and meal periods) of time in an office environment and 5% of the time in the facility. When working in the facility it requires the use of personal protective equipment including (but not limited to) safety slip/ oil resistant shoes, safety glasses, safety gloves as well as other PPE dependent on the work being performed.
