About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold District’s Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality. Key Responsibilities:
  • Observe and record development work processes, identifying areas for improvement and potential bottlenecks.
  • Record and analyze data collected from time studies to develop accurate task duration standards and identify areas for process improvement.
  • Determine the standard time required to complete specific tasks, which can be used for scheduling, budgeting, and performance evaluation.
  • Focus on reducing waste, improving operational efficiency, and optimizing production processes.
  • Support development mining teams with day-to-day tasks as required.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Having completed minimally the first year of a Mining Engineering or Mine Technologist program.
  • Previous experience in an underground operation would be highly regarded.
  • Underground Common Core modules would be seen as an asset.
  • The individual should demonstrate a high level of energy, self-motivation and strong organizational skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing work environment.
  • The incumbent will demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner.
  • Valid driver's license with ability to operate manual transmission vehicle required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Excel.

The schedule for this position is based in a camp setting, working on a 7x7 rotation schedule with flights provided from Toronto, Sudbury, Thunder Bay and Rouyn-Noranda.
