Job summary

Camfil Power Systems in Laval (Americas headquarters) seeks an Engineering Planner to develop, maintain, and analyze integrated schedules reflecting engineering workflows, dependencies, and deliverables. You will bridge engineering and project planning to keep schedules accurate, resource-aligned, and risk-aware.

Key responsibilities include overseeing schedules and budgets, defining dependencies and milestones, and coordinating with internal teams to mitigate risks.

Qualifications

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Proficient in MS Project.
  • 3+ years in project planning/scheduling.
  • Experience with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with industrial manufacturing or EPC-type projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee engineering execution, schedules and budgets.
  • Create and maintain engineering-driven project schedules.
  • Define dependencies, critical path, and milestones.
  • Coordinate weekly coordination meetings and highlight risks and schedule deviations.
  • Continuously monitor and update schedules based on progress.
  • Coordinate with shared resources including Project engineering, design, structural and electromechanical.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are aware of upcoming milestones and deliverables.
  • Review and maintain engineering KPI for on-time delivery and actual vs budget hours.

The Engineering Planner develops, maintains, and analyzes integrated schedules that reflect engineering workflows, technical dependencies, and deliverables. This role bridges engineering and project planning execution by ensuring schedules are technically accurate, resource‑aligned, and risk‑aware. Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee engineering execution, schedules and budgets. Identify and mitigate risks.
  • Create and maintain detailed, engineering‑driven project schedules, including design phases deliverables and procurement milestones.
  • Define and manage task dependencies, critical path, and key milestones.
  • Participate in weekly coordination meetings with internal teams and highlight Critical activities and risks, Schedule deviation and Required recovery actions.
  • Continuously monitor and update schedules based on project progress and changes.
  • Coordinate with shared resources including Project engineering, design, structural and electromechanical.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are aware of upcoming milestones and deliverables
  • Review and maintain engineering KPI for on‑time delivery and actual vs budget hours.

Are you THE person we are looking for?

  • Bachelor degree or D.E.C in mechanical engineering
  • Bilingual spoken and written
  • Experience in managing large projects, including all related activities, such as costs, schedules and contracts
  • 3+ years of experience in:
    • Project planning / scheduling
    • Engineering or technical project environments
  • Experience working with cross‑functional engineering teams
  • Familiarity with industrial, manufacturing, or EPC‑type projects is an asset
  • Relevant Experience: Prior project coordination or leadership roles
  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of project management software (e.g., MS Project)
  • Communication and Leadership Skills: Effective stakeholder communication and team management
  • Strong analytical and planning skills
  • Ability to understand and translate engineering workflows into schedules
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • High attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Proactive problem‑solving and risk management mindset
