Job summary

We expect a decade of engineering experience, including at least two years in management, strong collaboration skills, and a track record of delivering interconnected roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical judgment grounded in mobile Android engineering.
• 10+ years in engineering, with 2+ years in management.
• Experience aligning priorities across teams and driving delivery.
• Ability to use AI to speed up workflows and validate AI outputs.
• Proven track record building platform capabilities for engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and grow a specialized team of Android engineers.

• Pinterest is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Android Modernization team in Toronto. You’ll lead the engineering team that is empowering Android developers at Pinterest to build modern, world-class app experiences for Pinners and advertisers with high productivity, performance, and quality
• Lead, coach and grow a specialized team of Android engineers
• Set the team’s technical vision and roadmap in partnership with Client Platforms and cross-functional product teams
• Drive platform modernization that helps product teams adopt modern client architectures and build high-quality experiences
• Improve client stability, health metrics, browser compatibility, runtime frameworks and critical dependency currency
• Establish clear operating rhythms for planning, two-week sprints, risk management and monthly stakeholder updates
• Hire, onboard and develop engineers, creating an inclusive, high-performing team with clear expectations and growth opportunities
• Use AI to accelerate engineering workflows and modernization while applying judgment and verification to maintain code quality, security and reliability
