Job summary

Summit Water in Cambridge, Ontario is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a small engineering team and shape the next generation of packaged mechanical systems. You will oversee design, drawings and BOMs, while collaborating with production and procurement to drive cost-effective, high-quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes practical design, close interaction with manufacturing and meaningful responsibility for how systems are designed and improved, including booster pumps and water

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience, ideally with an equipment manufacturer.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, pumps, piping and equipment fabrication.
• Experience with CAD design, engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Proven ability to lead technical staff and manage multiple projects.
• Hands-on problem solving and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small team responsible for equipment design, technical drawings, specifications and engineering support.
• Oversee engineering deliverables, including project quotations, customer submittals and production drawings.
• Standardize equipment designs, components and bills of materials to improve manufacturing efficiency, cost and quality.
• Improve existing systems and lead the development of new products, including booster pump packages and water treatment systems.
• Work closely with production, procurement, sales and suppliers to develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure engineering designs meet applicable technical standards and quality requirements.
