Job summary

DemandBridge, LLC in Canada/US (remote) is seeking a hands-on engineering leader to drive the next-gen ERP. This player-coach role combines team management with active coding, collaborating closely with a strengthened Product team to turn roadmaps into reliable delivery.

You will set technical direction, own architecture decisions, and contribute to critical components in a Java-based stack while balancing modernization with existing products.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software development, including 3+ years managing engineering teams.
• Strong hands-on Java experience (back-end, enterprise applications).
• Experience building or modernizing ERP or complex B2B systems (order management, inventory, accounting).
• Track record implementing agile practices, CI/CD, and test automation that improved releases.
• Strong relational database design and performance optimization skills.
• Ability to assess talent, give direct feedback, and make tough decisions.
• Hands-on experience with Azure (AWS or GCP also considered).
• Experience owning production operations: on-call rotations, incidents, and SRE practices.
• Experience with PCI DSS compliance in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture decisions for the next-gen ERP and finalize the technology stack.
• Code reviews, design, prototyping, and direct contribution to critical components.
• Balance modernization with current product lines and customers; manage technical debt.
• Own the SDLC: sprint cadence, daily standups, retrospectives, and release schedules.
• Strengthen automated testing, CI/CD, and release quality; set code review standards.
• Drive AI-assisted development tool adoption and communicate trade-offs to leadership.
