RVA seeks an enthusiastic Engineering Designer to join the Urban & Riverine Systems team in Toronto on a full-time basis. You will support projects involving stormwater management, flood control, watershed modeling, and infrastructure design, collaborating with engineers, planners, and clients.

The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in a consulting environment supporting linear infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency with Microstation, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM.
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools.
• Experience with flow monitoring and rainfall data analysis.
• InfoWorks experience would be an asset.
• Knowledge of stormwater BMPs.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; PEO license eligible.

The successful candidate will support a variety of projects, including stormwater management, flood control, watershed modeling, and infrastructure design. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with engineers, planners, and clients.

Duties:

• Assist in the design and development of stormwater, drainage, and flood management systems
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling for water resources projects
• Prepare technical drawings, reports, and specifications using CAD and GIS software
• Conduct site assessments, data collection, and analysis to support design recommendations
• Work with project managers and engineers to ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations
• Support the preparation of permit applications and environmental documentation

• Knowledge of stormwater best management practices (BMPs)
• Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field, from an accredited post-secondary institution
• Registered or eligible to apply for a P.Eng. license with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).

Compensation Range

The salary range for this position is: $72,000.00 - $85,000.00

Compensation for this role will be determined based on a variety of factors, including, but not necessarily limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business needs.
