Job summary

Price Industries Limited in Winnipeg is seeking an Engineering Automation Designer to join our engineering team. You will develop, configure, and maintain DriveWorks automation projects and collaborate across CAD, ERP, and PDM systems.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical/engineering background, experience with DriveWorks Pro, CAD automation, and strong problem-solving and client-facing skills. We offer a supportive environment with growth opportunities in a forward-thinking company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a mechanical/engineering field or related.
  • Experience with DriveWorks Pro and CAD automation is preferred.
  • Strong client-facing communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Project management skills including planning, time estimation and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of SQL databases and APIs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, and maintain DriveWorks automation projects.
  • Support users by troubleshooting DriveWorks and integrated systems.
  • Engage with clients to understand needs and provide technical solutions.
  • Gather and document requirements for new projects and enhancements.
  • Create project plans, including task assignments, deadlines, and milestones.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with CAD, ERP and PDM.
  • Optimize existing automation processes for efficiency and scalability.
  • Provide training and documentation to users and stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with DriveWorks features and industry best practices.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Additional DriveWorks, SolidWorks, or CAD automation certifications would be a plus.
  • Experience with DriveWorks Pro.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) and automation.
  • Understanding of engineering design principles and product configuration.
  • Experience in client‑facing roles, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to gather requirements, document processes, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Project management skills, including task planning, time estimation, and deadline tracking.
  • Knowledge of SQL databases, scripting (VBA, .NET, or similar), and API integrations is a plus.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
