Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) in British Columbia seeks a Project Engineer or EIT to lead projects from scoping to execution, collaborating with technical services, operations and contractors to ensure safe, efficient delivery at site.

The role emphasizes strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building across teams, with a compressed work week and Fridays off, plus benefits including annual bonuses, retirement package and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Mine or related Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience and certification).
• Registered or eligible for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
• Minimum of three years of project experience, including design, construction, and commissioning.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience in project frameworks, cost control, team alignment, and contractor coordination is an asset.
• Experience in mining or heavy industry is an asset.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
• Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and schedules across the portfolio
• Lead and support project transitions into operations, including readiness planning, commissioning, and start‑up
• Execute mining, plant, environmental, and tailings projects in coordination with contractors and internal departments
• Collaborate with operational teams to ensure alignment and engagement throughout the project lifecycle
• Gather and analyze information to support sound decision‑making and continuous improvement

Education

Salary range: $91,300 - $126,800 CAD/year

For applicants registered as an EIT or GIT, annual base salary will be determined by EVR's formal progression matrix based on verified relevant years of experience.

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
