Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) in British Columbia is seeking a Project Engineer or EIT to lead projects from scoping through planning to execution, working with technical services, operations and contractors to deliver safe, efficient outcomes. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication, leadership and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to build solid relationships across teams.

This on-site role includes a compressed work week and opportunities to contribute to meaningful mining

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Mine or related Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience and certification).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience in project frameworks, cost control, team alignment, and contractor coordination is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and schedules across the portfolio
  • Lead and support project transitions into operations, including readiness planning, commissioning, and start-up
  • Execute mining, plant, environmental, and tailings projects in coordination with contractors and internal departments
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure alignment and engagement throughout the project lifecycle
  • Gather and analyze information to support sound decision-making and continuous improvement

About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Lead, Projects, the Project Engineer or EIT leads projects from scoping and planning to execution, supporting safe and efficient delivery at site. This role works closely with colleagues across technical services, operations, and external contractors to ensure alignment and successful outcomes.

In This Role You Will

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Mine or related Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience and certification)
  • Registered or eligible for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC)
  • Minimum of three years of project experience, including design, construction, and commissioning
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience in project frameworks, cost control, team alignment, and contractor coordination is an asset
  • Experience in mining or heavy industry is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent

Salary range: $91,300 - $126,800 CAD/year

For applicants registered as an EIT or GIT, annual base salary will be determined by EVR's formal progression matrix based on verified relevant years of experience.

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.

Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
