Engineer, Commissioning Protection & Control (P&C)

Raise is currently hiring an Engineer, Commissioning Protection & Control (P&C) on behalf of our client, a leading electrical energy supplier in Canada. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader, expanding their team to meet growing needs.

Description

The Engineer will have experience designing protection and control systems in electrical utility substations with voltages from 12kV to 500kV, focusing on transmission stations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project documentation and deliverables in accordance with project and engineering standards.
• Develop design work packages including scope, timelines, and effort estimates.
• Produce signed/sealed engineering deliverables as a Professional of Record (PoR) per EGBC standards.
• Provide technical support and field reviews during construction.
• Design detailed protection and control system layouts, diagrams, and documentation for substations.
• Specify and procure necessary materials and equipment.
• Conduct condition assessments and prepare reports with recommendations.
• Create commissioning test plans and documentation.
• Review and guide designs prepared by others.
• Train end-users and peers on system operation.

Minimum Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience in protection and control systems for electrical substations.
• Experience preparing project documentation and design packages.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• P.Eng registration with EGBC and proof of permit to practice.
• Intermediate English skills, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
