Job summary

TC Energy in Calgary is seeking an Engineer or Technologist to join our Safety and Technical Services team and support the US Class / HCA program for pipeline safety and regulatory excellence. You will review remediation options, analyze data, and help implement long-term improvements while ensuring CFR 192 compliance.

You will collaborate with subject matter experts, regulators, and operations, develop procedures, mentor interns, and report progress to leadership. Hybrid work offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; EIT or P.Eng. eligible.
  • 2–6 years of related engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with US CFR 192 and pipeline regulations.
  • Experience in audits, assurance, and regulatory engagements.
  • Ability to develop technical procedures for safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Support Class remediation project reviews and remediation options.
  • Collaborate with regulatory and technical SMEs to ensure CFR compliance.
  • Provide engineering analysis and risk mitigation support.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Update procedures to sustain continuous improvement of the Class/HCA program.
  • Mentor Engineers-in-Training and interns.

Connect to what matters. ## **The Opportunity** The Safety and Technical Services US Class / HCA team is seeking an Engineer or Technologist to join our team and be part of a high-performing group of engineers, technologists, and analysts who are dedicated to pipeline safety and regulatory excellence for TC Energy's US pipeline infrastructure. In this role you will participate in the annual class / HCA assessment of the US natural gas pipeline system for conformance with codes and standards, sponsor remediation projects to ensure safe long-term operations and support the new regulatory requirements with 192.611a4. The successful candidate will collaborate extensively with internal and external stakeholders including technical subject matter experts, regulatory compliance experts, operations personnel, and federal regulatory bodies. **What you'll do*** Support the review of Class remediation projects for alternative remediation options* Collaborate with stakeholders including technical subject matter experts and regulatory compliance experts to ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations* Provide technical support in engineering analysis and risk mitigation* Analyze data, identify trends, and implement short- and long-term plans for ongoing improvements* Develop and update documented procedures to support the continual improvement of the Class / HCA Program* Provide technical support to Pipeline Integrity and other company stakeholders as required* Contribute to a continuous improvement culture related to process and procedures, supporting efficiency and consistency efforts* Communicate and report technical and project work progress to Leadership and federal regulatory bodies, as needed* Provide guidance and mentoring to Engineers-in-Training and student interns**Minimum Qualifications*** 2-6 years of related industry engineering experience* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent* Engineers must be registered or eligible for registration with APEGA as an Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer (P.
