Job summary

Cummins in Saskatoon is seeking an Engine Workshop Technician - Apprentice to join our Distribution team. You will assist with repairs and maintenance of engine products, using diagnostic tools and maintaining detailed service records.

Under supervision, you will complete on-the-job and classroom training, pursue ongoing certifications, and develop skills in engine systems and after-treatment components while maintaining your own tools and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum year 2 of Red Seal/Journeyman Certification completed.
• Basic workshop experience or knowledge of engine products.
• Willingness to learn and develop through on-job and classroom training.

Responsibilities

• Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
• Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
• Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.
• Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.
• Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.
• Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software

Job Summary:

We are looking for an Engine Workshop Technician - Apprentice to join our Distribution business in Saskatoon. will make an impact in the following ways:

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools

• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies

• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

• Maintain own tools

Responsibilities

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  Education, Licenses, Certifications:
  Must have completed Year 2 of Red Seal /Journeyman Certification

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Minimal level of workshop experience required or basic level knowledge of engine products
Basic mechanical knowledge

Qualifications

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday @ 8am - 4:30pm
