Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Winnipeg is seeking an Engine Workshop Technician to join our Distribution business. You will complete repairs on engine products in a service shop, perform maintenance and diagnostics using diagnostic tools, and maintain detailed service records.

You will adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies and pursue ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products. You will maintain your own tools.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Minimal workshop experience required.
  • Basic knowledge of engine products.

Responsibilities

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop.
  • Perform maintenance/repairs using diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles.

Job description

Job Summary:

Completes repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under supervision

We are looking for an Engine Workshop Technician to join our Distribution business in Winnipeg. You will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics
  • Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
  • Demonstrates an understanding on access to engine repair process information sources.
  • Understands after-treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level.
  • Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts.
  • Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software

Qualifications
  • Journeyperson Mechanic certification or enrolled as a Level 3 or Level 4 Apprentice.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Minimal level of workshop experience requiredBasic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
  • Valid driver's license.

-This role requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free from major violations and must meet the conditions of the company policy
