Job description

Vancouver's cloud computing scene has a compelling opening for a seasoned project leader. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Engagement Manager, Public Sector Professional Services to join their team in Vancouver, BC. This is a customer-facing role at the intersection of technology strategy and enterprise delivery — the kind of position where your ability to lead complex cloud transformations directly shapes outcomes for public sector clients across Canada.

At its core, this role is about guiding customers through their digital transformation journeys using AWS cloud products and services. You'll be orchestrating everything from Cloud Strategy and Business Case Development to On-Premise to Cloud Migrations, working alongside internal AWS teams, external partners, and customer stakeholders to keep engagements on track and on budget.

About the Role: Engagement Manager, Public Sector Professional Services

As an Engagement Manager, you'll be responsible for the full project lifecycle — from scoping and governance planning through to delivery and outcomes measurement. You'll collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training, and support teams to understand customer needs and ensure expectations are consistently met or exceeded. Engagements you'll lead include Cloud Architecture Design and Implementation, Cloud Suitability and Migration Assessments, and Cloud Organisational Alignment initiatives.

Working in a dynamic, matrixed environment, you'll manage stakeholder relationships at every level — from C-suite executives and VPs to project-level subject matter experts. You'll be expected to hold teams accountable, manage risks and dependencies proactively, and adapt your approach to the cultural and operational context of each client. A flexible work environment supports your work-life balance, though travel to customer sites may be required periodically as engagements demand.

Benefits and Salary

The base salary range for this position is $99,900 to $166,900 CAD annually, with final compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and location. As a total compensation employer, Amazon's package may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life and AD&D), a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and additional resources to support health and well-being. AWS also offers ongoing mentorship, career development resources, and an inclusive team culture with employee-led affinity groups and learning events.
