Job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Professional Services is looking for a Senior Engagement Manager to join its team in Toronto, Ontario. This is a senior-level role that sits at the intersection of technology leadership and client delivery — ideal for someone who thrives on guiding complex cloud transformation projects from start to finish while keeping both technical teams and executive stakeholders aligned.

At its core, this role is about making things happen. You'll be translating business goals into technical roadmaps, managing delivery across Agile teams, and ensuring that AWS cloud solutions actually deliver measurable outcomes for clients. If you've spent years leading enterprise IT engagements and want to do that work inside one of the most influential cloud organizations in the world, this position is worth a close look.

About the Role: Senior Engagement Manager

As a Senior Engagement Manager within AWS ProServe, you'll lead the planning and delivery of large-scale cloud migration and implementation projects for enterprise clients across Canada. You'll work closely with customer teams and AWS Partner Network (APN) partners to execute cloud computing initiatives, applying frameworks like the AWS Well-Architected Framework and Cloud Adoption Framework to keep projects technically sound and business-aligned. Your day-to-day will involve decomposing complex technical challenges into actionable deliverables, managing risks proactively, and communicating clearly with both engineering teams and C-suite stakeholders.

This role requires a balance of technical credibility and program management discipline. You'll be expected to validate solutions against business goals, recognize when additional technical evaluation is needed, and contribute to documentation standards — all while holding yourself and your teams to a high bar for delivery quality. AWS certifications are expected as part of your ongoing professional development in this position.

Benefits and Salary

The base salary for this position ranges from $126,000 to $210,400 CAD annually, with final compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon's total compensation package may also include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Benefits include health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life and AD&D), a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and additional resources to support health and well-being. AWS also offers flexible work arrangements, mentorship programs, employee-led affinity groups, and ongoing learning and career development resources.

  • Knowledge of public cloud value propositions and cloud engagement delivery models, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
  • Experience leading multiple Agile teams concurrently (e.g., Scrum Masters, Product Owners) at scale
  • 5+ years of experience delivering customer engagements in a professional services role (preferred)
  • Active project management certification such as APM, CSM, PMI-ACP, or PRINCE2 (preferred)
  • AWS certification (preferred, with expectation to achieve and maintain relevant certifications in role)
  • Experience presenting to C-level executives and engaging across IT and lines of business (preferred)

Active project management certification (e.g., APM, CSM, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2); AWS certification; experience working with and presenting to C-level executives, IT, and lines of businesses across organizations.
