Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Legal Counsel in Gatineau, Quebec to join a team of lawyers supporting hydro, wind and utility-scale power projects across the business. The role reports to the Vice President of Legal Services and offers broad exposure to transactional and regulatory matters.

Responsibilities include providing practical legal advice, collaborating with finance, operations, and tax, and supporting project financings, M&A and real property matters.

Qualifications

• Requires 3–5 years post-call transactional experience.
• JD/LLB/B.C.L. degree and bar admission in a Canadian jurisdiction.
• Interest or experience in renewable energy, energy/infrastructure or project finance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on a wide range of issues across hydro, wind and other utility-scale assets.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across finance, operations, and tax to achieve outcomes.
• Support corporate and project transactions, including financings and M&A.
