Job description

About Stem Health

Stem Health is reimagining the primary care experience for individuals who want a more thoughtful relationship with their health. Physician-led and membership-based, we combine medical excellence with the warmth of hospitality anchored in a beautifully designed flagship clinic at First Canadian Place, opening September 2026. Our care model is relationship-based, data-informed, and built on time, trust, and exceptional service.

Position Summary

Hormonal health is at the core of how people feel, function, and age. Metabolic conditions, thyroid disorders, bone health, adrenal function, reproductive hormones, and insulin resistance are among the most common and most underdiagnosed contributors to reduced vitality and long-term disease risk. At Stem Health, these are not afterthoughts to be managed elsewhere. They are central to the kind of proactive, personalized care we are built to deliver. We are looking for anEndocrinologist to join our multidisciplinary clinical team and provide expert consultation, diagnosis, and management for members with endocrine and metabolic health concerns. Working closely with our primary care physicians, naturopathic doctors, and allied health providers, you will bring depth to the hormonal and metabolic layer of each member's care helping us address the root causes that too often go unaddressed in conventional primary care. This role is ideal for a clinician who values time, relationships, and the opportunity to practice with real depth in a setting that supports it.

Key Responsibilities

Endocrine assessment and diagnosis

  • Conduct comprehensive endocrinology consultations for Stem Health members, including detailed history-taking, physical examination, and clinical assessment of presenting endocrine and metabolic concerns.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad spectrum of endocrine disorders, with particular emphasis on conditions relevant to a preventive, executive health population: thyroid disorders (hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, thyroid nodules, autoimmune thyroid disease), metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes and prediabetes, adrenal conditions (cortisol dysregulation, adrenal insufficiency, subclinical Cushing's), pituitary disorders, osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease, dyslipidemia, vitamin D deficiency, and reproductive and sex hormone imbalances.
  • Order, review, and interpret relevant diagnostic investigations including comprehensive hormonal panels, dynamic endocrine testing, bone density assessments (DEXA), thyroid ultrasound, and specialized metabolic markers integrating findings into a clear, actionable clinical picture.
  • Identify early hormonal and metabolic risk factors in members who present without an established diagnosis, supporting a proactive and preventive approach to endocrine health.

Treatment planning and ongoing management

  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that address the root causes of hormonal and metabolic dysfunction incorporating pharmacotherapy, lifestyle medicine, nutritional guidance, and targeted supplementation as clinically appropriate.
  • Prescribe and manage medications within the full scope of endocrinology practice in Ontario, including thyroid hormone replacement, insulin and hypoglycemic agents, bisphosphonates and bone-protective therapies, and adrenal and pituitary interventions.
  • Provide evidence-informed hormone optimization guidance including sex hormone assessment and management in peri- and post-menopausal women and men with testosterone deficiency in alignment with current ENDO guidelines and Ontario practice standards.
  • Monitor member progress across follow-up appointments, adjusting treatment plans based on clinical response, evolving lab trends, and member health goals.
  • Counsel members on the relationship between hormonal health, metabolic function, nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and stress empowering them to make meaningful, sustainable changes as part of their broader wellness plan.

Preventive and metabolic health

  • Contribute to each member's preventive health strategy by identifying metabolic and endocrine risk factors early before they progress to frank disease and partnering with the primary care team to intervene proactively.
  • Provide expert guidance on bone health screening, fracture risk assessment, and preventive interventions for members at risk of osteoporosis or metabolic bone disease.
  • Support the clinical team in designing and interpreting comprehensive metabolic panels, hormonal baseline assessments, and longitudinal tracking of endocrine biomarkers within each member's Unified Health Story.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in emerging areas relevant to executive and longevity medicine including continuous glucose monitoring, metabolic flexibility, hormone-related cognitive health, and age-related hormonal transitions.

Interdisciplinary collaboration

  • Work closely with Stem Health's primary care physicians, naturopathic doctors, kinesiologists, and nutritional support staff to provide integrated, team-based endocrine and metabolic care for each member.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case reviews, contributing an endocrinological perspective to complex or multifactorial clinical presentations across the care team.
  • Communicate consultation findings, diagnosis, treatment rationale, and follow-up plans clearly and promptly within the clinic's EHR ensuring all relevant providers have access to a complete and current clinical picture.
  • Support Stem Health's clinical team with educational input on endocrine and metabolic topics, keeping the broader team current with evolving evidence and best practices.

Documentation and professional standards

  • Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely clinical documentation for all consultations, diagnostic reviews, treatment plans, and follow-ups within the clinic's EHR platform.
  • Maintain licensure in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and adhere to all CPSO standards of practice and relevant Royal College competency frameworks.
  • Maintain current malpractice/professional liability insurance and stay up to date with continuing medical education and Royal College Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognized medical school required.
  • Completion of residency training in Internal Medicine (or Pediatrics) followed by subspecialty fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism.
  • Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Endocrinology and Metabolism required.
  • Current licensure in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) required.
  • Minimum 3 years of post-fellowship clinical experience in endocrinology, ideally including ambulatory, outpatient, or private practice.
  • Broad clinical expertise across thyroid disease, metabolic syndrome, diabetes management, adrenal disorders, bone health, dyslipidemia, and hormonal health optimization.
  • Experience with hormone therapy, testosterone management, and the endocrinological aspects of healthy aging and longevity medicine is a significant asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Ontario healthcare landscape, OHIP billing (where applicable), and available investigative and specialist resources.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills warm, credible, and able to explain complex endocrine concepts to patients.
  • Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and a disciplined approach to clinical documentation.
  • Current malpractice/professional liability insurance required.
Ideal Candidate

You are a subspecialist who brings deep clinical knowledge and a genuine curiosity about the whole person not just their TSH or HbA1c, but the interconnected hormonal, metabolic, and lifestyle forces shaping their health. You are energized by the opportunity to practice with real depth and continuity, in a setting where time is not rationed and where your expertise is genuinely valued as part of a coordinated care model. You communicate clearly with members and colleagues alike, take a preventive as well as therapeutic view of endocrine health, and bring the kind of intellectual rigor that high-performing, health-engaged members appreciate and expect.

Why Join Stem Health
  • Join the founding clinical team of a physician-led, membership-based clinic at First Canadian Place opening September 2026 and help define the role of endocrinology in next-generation preventive primary care.

  • An integrated clinical model: your findings live inside a Unified Health Story shared across primary care, diagnostics, allied health, and wellness enabling truly coordinated, longitudinal endocrine management.
  • On-site diagnostics including DEXA scanning, advanced lab capabilities, and a full suite of imaging and specialist support to complement your clinical work.

  • Flexible engagement model: part-time or contract arrangements considered, with the potential to grow your scope as the clinic grows.
